Queen’s English

Queen’s English is a gay web series about some messy queens just trying to make it to adulthood in one piece—with some money left over for Sunday mimosas.

The Second Season

is streaming now.

Queen’s English was created and produced by Tyler Dwiggins. The series follows Gabe, a wayward twink whose Catholic boyfriend just dumped him for Jesus; Tucker, a lovelorn drag queen who is stuck in the friend zone: and Olivia, an actress who will probably become a star just after she cleans the ketchup off her shoes.

Each episode of Queen’s English begins with a Merriam-Webster definition of a gay slang phrase (i.e. the first episode is called “Twink” and includes a title card which explains what that word means!). Just as the characters are learning to define themselves, the audience will be able to define any of the gay jargon they hear throughout the episode.

Queen’s English focuses on LGBTQ characters, but it’s really about the landmine in between childhood and adulthood. The main characters struggle with love, lust, and an empty checking account – just like you!

The series has built a dedicated audience and was nominated for Best Digital Entertainment at The Queerties. The pilot script for Queen’s English was selected as a Semifinalist for the Austin Film Festival Rooster Teeth Award. The series has been selected for NYC Web Fest, Everybody Digital Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Anaheim International Film Festival, Indie Short Fest, T.O. Webfest, LGBTQ+ Los Angeles Film Festival, Transparent Film Festival, NewFilmmakers NY, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival, ARTANGO International Queer Festival, Independent Shorts Awards, Toronto Lift-Off Film Festival, Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival, Chicago Amarcord Arthouse Television Awards, My True Colors Festival, Two Roads International Film Festival, and UK Offline Web Fest.
